Trevor & Tanvi’s Romantic Proposal on Houston’s North Boulevard
There are some proposal days that make you a little nervous as a photographer.
Trevor and Tanvi’s proposal was definitely one of them!
The plan was a beautiful surprise proposal on North Boulevard in Houston, one of my absolute favorite streets in the city. With its gorgeous tree-lined streets, historic homes, and lush greenery, I honestly think North Boulevard is one of the most enchanting places in all of Houston for engagement and proposal photos.
The only problem?
It had been raining and storming all day.
Watching the Weather
I always worry about rain when I have an outdoor proposal scheduled, but I have to admit, this was probably the most stressed I have ever been about the weather.
The forecast kept us guessing, and with the proposal carefully planned, there wasn’t exactly an easy way to move everything indoors.
But Trevor and Tanvi got incredibly lucky.
Just in time for the proposal, the rain stopped!
It was almost like Houston decided to cooperate at exactly the right moment.
The Perfect Post-Rain Proposal
The rain may have made us nervous beforehand, but it ended up creating some of the most beautiful conditions for their photographs.
The streets were still wet, the trees were incredibly green, and the soft light after the storm gave everything a gorgeous, romantic feel.
And Tanvi’s dress looked absolutely stunning against all of that greenery.
Sometimes the weather you worry about the most ends up creating something even more beautiful than you could have planned.
As Trevor proposed, everything came together perfectly. The rain had stopped, the setting was beautiful, and Tanvi got to experience the surprise Trevor had carefully planned for her.
And, of course, she said yes!
Photographing Their Proposal on North Boulevard
Once the surprise was over, we had time to explore North Boulevard and capture some beautiful engagement portraits of the newly engaged couple.
The wet streets and post-rain glow added so much character to the photographs. The greenery looked extra vibrant, and the entire street had this romantic, almost cinematic feeling.
North Boulevard is already one of my favorite places in Houston to photograph couples, but the combination of the freshly fallen rain, beautiful architecture, lush trees, and Tanvi’s gorgeous dress made this session especially memorable.
I love when a location feels like part of the story rather than simply being a backdrop.
So Happy Everything Worked Out
As a photographer, you can plan every detail of a proposal, but there are some things you simply can’t control.
The weather is definitely one of them!
I spent so much of the day worrying about whether the rain would stop, and then, somehow, it did. The timing couldn’t have been better.
I am so incredibly happy that everything worked out beautifully for Trevor and Tanvi.
They got their beautiful North Boulevard proposal, we got gorgeous post-rain light, and I got to capture the beginning of such an exciting new chapter in their lives.
