Rachel and Patrick were such a dream couple to work with! They are so kind, thoughtful, and incredibly organized, which made their wedding day flow beautifully. From their meaningful ceremony at St. Helen’s Catholic Church to their elegant reception at La Maison Blanc in Pearland, every detail came together perfectly.

A Thoughtful Catholic Ceremony

One important tip for couples planning a Catholic wedding is to allow extra photography time. Because the Mass is longer than most ceremonies (Rachel and Patrick’s was about 90 minutes), they wisely booked me for 10 hours with a second photographer. This gave us plenty of time to capture the full story of their day without feeling rushed. I was surprised how busy I was during ten hours of time, and now have thousands of pictures to prove it!

Rachel and Patrick also included some unique and touching details during their ceremony:

  • They provided tissues to guests before the Mass—a thoughtful touch since so many happy tears were shed!
  • Their priest stood closer to the congregation during a portion of the service, allowing guests to see their faces. I had never seen this done before at a Catholic wedding, and it worked beautifully.
  • During the ceremony, they even name-dropped our new Pope Leo, which had everyone smiling.

After the Mass, we took family and wedding party portraits inside and outside the church. One of my favorite moments was recreating a photo of Rachel and Patrick from when they first met—in Pre-K! It was such a sweet, full-circle memory to capture.

Venue Details at La Maison Blanc

Since we were running ahead of schedule (another perk of their amazing organization), we arrived at La Maison Blanc early. This gave me the chance to photograph the stunning reception set-up before guests entered.

We then took more portraits of the wedding party and some dreamy bride and groom portraits around the property. The teal doors, vineyard, and reception entrance all made for picture-perfect backdrops.

A Joyful Reception

Rachel and Patrick’s reception was full of celebration, love, and personal touches. Highlights included:

  • A delicious dinner catered by Magnolia Cajun Comfort in Pearland.
  • Beautiful florals by HEB Florals that added just the right elegance to the space.
  • Special dances, cake cutting, and golden-hour sunset portraits.
  • A lively Aggie War Hymn sing-along that had the entire dance floor joining in!
  • An epic bubble exit, complete with about 10 giant bubble guns that created a magical, million-bubble sendoff.

The children at the wedding had so much fun with the bubbles throughout the evening, and I loved how seamlessly they were included in the celebration.

Final Thoughts

Rachel and Patrick’s wedding was everything a wedding day should be—joyful, heartfelt, beautifully planned, and full of unforgettable moments. I feel so grateful to have captured it for them, and I can’t wait for them to relive their day through these photos for years to come.
